Challenge Blog #2 Week 4
In
our group, we decided that we would make a Mobile Application. And the
purpose of the app is to get our target audiences get interested in
learning more about STEM. So using the time given to think, ideas after
idea, brainstorming here and there, we finally came up with an idea to
get our target audience interest. That idea is to create a mobile game.
Mainly because our target audience are kids and teenagers ranging from
7-17 years old and it's without a doubt that they spend most of their
times playing games on their devices rather than learning. So we came up
with a game concept based on the game The Sims. But in our
perspective of the idea, is more to learning and educating both the sim
character and the user. So for example, there are stages where the sim
character must learn something based on STEM. And in order for the sim
to learn, the user must learn it first.Then and only then can the sim
character get through a certain stage based on what questions or
challenges it might provide the character. So if there is a stage where
the character must learn or do something that involves with Mathematics,
the user must use their knowledge on that specific curriculum (STEM).
And to gain that knowledge, the user must obtain it from school. The
game basically follows what the user's learning system is like. If the
user gets left behind and the character is in a stage far from what the
school is currently teaching, then the user must find a way to obtain
that knowledge in order for their character to graduate.Each character
is based on he age of it's user. The older the user is, the more
challenging the stages gets. As soon as they reach their final exams,
they will have to use every single knowledge that they have that relates
to STEM in their papers. If the game character fails, the character
doesn't graduate. But if the character graduates, the user can receive
IRL rewards such as scholarships,money and many more.
